Beyond the Bed: Creative Ways to Use Blankets in Your Home

Naturally, over here at Clr Shop, we believe that blankets can be a versatile and stylish addition to any room in your house. Whether you're looking to add a pop of color to your dining area or create a cozy and inviting atmosphere in your living room, blankets can help you achieve the desired look and feel. While we'd expect to see blankets in the bedroom, they can add so much vibrancy to other spaces in your home as well!

One way to incorporate blankets into your home is by draping them over furniture. This can add a layer of texture and personality to your space, marrying both art and functionality. For example, try draping a brightly colored blanket over a neutral-colored sofa to perk up your seating area. Or, like @artdeeee, you can use layering blankets of different prints or colors as a trick to completely transform your furniture.

Another way to use blankets in your home is by hanging them on the wall. This can be a great way to add texture to any room without taking up valuable floor space. Try hanging a larger blanket on the wall as a tapestry, or group several smaller blankets together to create a gallery-style wall display. Or take a hint from @rebekahsayer.interiors - use your blanket as a decorative wall piece by hanging it on a coat rack and using clothespins to further accessorize and add softness with other textured objects!

Blankets can also be used to set up a delightfully intimate reading nook. Draping a deeper-colored blanket over a chair or sofa, especially in the corner of a room, helps the eye imagine the comfortable, serene feeling of disappearing into a book. Check out how @uu_______ii styled their throw.

Finally, consider using blankets for their multi-functionality to bring an air of the unusual to your space. For example, you can use a brightly colored blanket as a throw pillow on a sofa or on your bed, place it on the floor as a rug in an area that doesn’t get too much traffic, or use it as a tablecloth. This will add character and texture without being overwhelming.
