Tell us about you! How did you get into farming?
My name is D and I live in Korea. I was raised in Seonam-ri Village, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do - a region renowned for its apples. From a young age, I assisted my parents who worked in agriculture. Farming proved to be quite challenging, but now we operate a local brand called SunAm Farmers. Our brand focuses on the cultivation and processing of apples, drawing upon diverse knowledge, advanced technology, and agricultural expertise. As part of our operations, we frequently commute between Seoul and Mungyeong.
Tell us about your creative process. Where do you find inspiration?
When it comes to my creative process, I often find inspiration in colors, patterns, structures, and textures. They have a way of sparking my imagination and influencing my creative ideas. Additionally, during my high school years, I had a passion for music. As a result, I attended a music school where I focused on developing my skills as a vocalist and singer-songwriter. Music has been a significant source of inspiration for me, and it continues to play a role in shaping my creative journey!
What’s one piece of advice you always go back to when it comes to your career?
I always think about the fact that success often comes from having the freedom to fail. It's important to embrace the idea of failure being a natural part of the learning process. Instead of fearing failure, I remind myself that it's an opportunity to learn, adapt, and ultimately achieve success. By adopting a growth mindset and being willing to take calculated risks, I can overcome challenges and continuously evolve in my career.
What makes a space feel like home?
A combination of things! First, well-organized furniture and interior design create a sense of comfort and familiarity. When everything has its place and the space is arranged in a way that suits your needs and preferences, it can contribute to a feeling of being at home. Second, cozy lighting and warm tones can create a welcoming atmosphere, making the space feel inviting and comforting. Natural light, especially when it is abundant and fills the room, can also have a positive impact on the overall ambiance. Lastly, personal touches and items that hold sentimental value, such as Clr Shop blankets, can bring a sense of familiarity and emotional connection, making the space truly feel like home.
As a creative, what’s your best tip for achieving a sense of balance in your home?
My best tip for achieving balance at home is to incorporate plants and other natural elements into your living space. Surrounding yourself with greenery can have a calming and grounding effect on your mental well-being. Indoor plants not only add aesthetic appeal but also improve air quality and create a connection to the natural world. Whether it's potted plants, small succulents, or a lush indoor garden, having these living elements around you can provide a sense of tranquility and balance. Taking care of plants and being in touch with nature can also serve as a mindful and nurturing activity, allowing you to find peace and inspiration within your creative process.

What are you looking forward to in the second half of 2023?
I am eagerly looking forward to embarking on new endeavors and taking on exciting challenges with my brand, SunAm Farmers, in Korea. We have ambitious plans to showcase the delicious fruits grown on our farm and establish the unique local culture associated with SunAm Farmers. This will involve collaborating with different companies and brands to create meaningful partnerships. Additionally, we are excited to launch a variety of new products and goods that embody the essence of SunAm Farmers. Overall, I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and the chance to further grow and develop the brand.
