Tell us about you! How did you get into interior design & TikTok?
Everything started after me and my husband decided to remodel our home. We bought this house in 2018, and it is about 113 years old. In 2021, we decided to remodel the living room, and it ended up being the whole house! Remodeling our house gave me the opportunity to understand what my personal style was, and it sparked my love for interior design. I decided to document the process of putting our home together and share how the new house looks on TikTok. It's been fun to connect with people and create content that resonates with others. Tell us about your creative process.
Where do you find inspiration?
Most of my inspiration comes from things I’ve seen. Pinterest was a great tool to understand what I liked, and from there I sought out the pieces that I liked and put them together in a moodboard. Also, my mother-in-law is an interior designer, and her style has impacted my decor. Lately, I’ve also found a lot of inspiration on TikTok and YouTube videos.
What’s one piece of advice you always go back to when it comes to your career?
It’s always better to give it a try than never try it! What makes a space feel like home? Uniqueness and warmth. For me, uniqueness can be added through pieces that are not mass-produced and are in some way unique. Things like art, handmade pieces (such as the Clr blankets), ceramic pieces, thrifted finds, etc. Warmth is given through lightning. I love having lamps and adding warm tones to our home later in the day.
As a creative, what’s your best tip for achieving a sense of balance in your home?
A very important thing for me is to not over-clutter the space. So, don’t buy "unnecessary things" for your home, and be intentional when you are selecting the pieces you’ll put in your space.
What are some of your home essentials?
Art, blankets, big mirror, coffee books, candle holders and candles.
What are you looking forward to in 2023?
I am looking forward to creating more content and connecting with my audience, and hopefully with new people too. I love connecting with creators and brands that inspire me.
